Khayyam Mushir is a chartered accountant and a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. Khayyam has 21 years of post-qualification experience in the field of professional accountancy, dealing with a wide range of professional sub-specializations including, among others, internal and external auditing, corporate laws compliance and advisory, and tax law compliance and advisory.

Over a career spanning 27 years Khayyam has worked with three out of the Big Four accounting firms—EY, Deloitte and KPMG—in Pakistan and the UK, retiring as a Partner in the Tax service line of EY Ford Rhodes, Islamabad. In all Khayyam served as a Partner with EY Ford Rhodes for 10 years, as an Assurance (audit) partner and as a tax partner.

He has extensive experience of working in the not-for-profit sector, directly, as Head of Finance (ActionAid) and as Head of Internal Audit (Plan International) and indirectly, in an external audit/advisory capacity in Pakistan and the UK. His other direct work includes roles in the Telecommunications sector.

In addition to his specialization in accounting and financial reporting and related standards (IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP), Khayyam has expertise in compliance and advisory of Pakistan tax laws, Pakistan corporate and banking laws and regulations and the Charity SORP of the UK. Further, he commands expertise over Pakistan’s charity laws and is fully conversant with the requirements of the Pakistan Board of Investment and the Ministry of Interior as regards the licensing and permission of foreign entities wishing to set up operations in Pakistan.

He is certified by Silega®--an international company specializing in designing and delivering gamified business simulations--to deliver business simulations covering a range of strategic topics including Conflict Resolution, Leadership Awareness, and Strategic Planning and Decision Making. He has also delivered trainings on gender diversity and inclusion to multiple national and multinational organizations in Pakistan under the aegis of the Australian Government’s Male Champions of Change program.

Khayyam has extensive experience in professional report writing and editing. He is certified by the Lahore University of Management Sciences to act as a member of the Board of Directors of organizations in the corporate sector. His experience spans multiple geographies--(Nepal, Afghanistan, Turkey, UAE, UK, the Netherlands, the USA, Africa)--and has been earned through the provision of quality professional services to the Telecommunications, Oil and Gas, FMCG, Real Estate, Construction, Utilities and Technology sectors.
